A Lakeland, Florida, man has died three weeks after swaddling himself in protective gear to sit at his wife’s bedside and tell her goodbye as she languished with COVID-19.

Sam Reck, 90, died Saturday after contracting the novel coronavirus after visiting his beloved wife of 30 years, JoAnn Reck, at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center on July 12.

90歲的山姆．瑞克（2020年）7月12日在雷克蘭地區衛生醫療中心探視他結縭30年的愛妻瓊安．瑞克後感染新冠病毒，週六病逝。

Holly Reck, one of Sam Reck’s two grown children, said that her father most likely fell ill after visiting JoAnn Reck, but nothing could have stopped him from carrying out the reunion.

山姆．瑞克的2名成年子女之一的荷莉．瑞克說，其父很有可能是在探視瓊安．瑞克後病倒，但沒有什麼事能阻止他與愛妻見上一面。

"There wasn’t anything any of us could have done to have talked him out of that. He would have gotten himself there one way or the other to see her. I do believe that," Holly Reck said.
