A person called for an ambulance after eating too much kebab, service in Wales has revealed. Further 999 calls were made because someone had misplaced their false teeth, and another had their hand stuck in a letterbox.

（英國）威爾斯公共服務單位透露，1位民眾在吃了太多沙威瑪烤肉串後叫了救護車。還有人因為假牙亂放找不到，或手被卡在信箱裡，而撥打999緊急電話。

A lost voice and a ring stuck on a finger prompted other inappropriate calls to the Welsh Ambulance Service.

也有人因為發不出聲音，或戒指卡在手指上等不當事宜，而呼叫威爾斯救護車服務中心。

The service had 414,149 calls last year and of those, 68,416 were not a life-or-death emergency, it said.

該中心表示，去年接到41萬4149通電話，其中6萬8416通並非攸關生死的緊急情況。

Andy Swinburn, executive director of paramedicine, said "inappropriate calls put additional strain on an already over-stretched service".

輔助醫療執行長安迪‧斯溫伯恩表示：「不恰當的電話給本已不堪重負的服務中心帶來額外壓力。」

"Our plea to the public is to apply your common sense - most people know the difference between a real emergency and something that is uncomfortable, painful or irritating but not life-threatening," he said.（Sky News）
