A student in Canton is receiving praise from his school district after an incredible weight loss.

The Canton City School District posted on Facebook about McKinley Senior High School student Michael Watson who lost 115 pounds.

"After years of being overweight, Michael took matters into his own hands," the district wrote.

The district said he "adopted a healthier lifestyle of eating and exercise by taking the road less traveled."

They added that Michael walked to school every single day regardless of the weather for his sophomore, junior and senior year.

The district said Michael is looking forward to graduating and working full-time.
