Indonesian officials are worried about a possible unintended consequence of the country’s coronavirus restrictions：a post-pandemic baby boom.

印尼官員憂心，全國的武漢肺炎封鎖措施可能帶來意料之外的後果：大流行後的嬰兒潮。

In April, as people across Indonesia stayed home, about 10 million married couples stopped using contraception, according to the National Population and Family Planning Agency, which collects data from clinics and hospitals that distribute birth control.

從分送生育控制工具的診所和醫院蒐集數據的「國家人口和家庭計畫署」指出，當全印尼的人們4月間都待在家裡時，約1000萬對已婚伴侶停止使用避孕措施。

Many women couldn’t get access to contraceptives because their health care provider was closed. Others did not want to risk a visit, for fear of catching the virus.

Hasto Wardoyo, who heads the family planning agency, has estimated that there could be 370,000 to 500,000 extra births early next year.
